The Awakening of Azathoth

Garb & Costume Notice

Please be advised that this is an immersive roleplaying event. Participants are encouraged to wear medieval, fantasy, or period-appropriate garb in accordance with game guidelines. However, because this event is being held as part of Deep South Para-Comi-Con, approved cosplay costumes are also permitted.

All costumes, props, weapons, and accessories must comply with Deep South Para-Comi-Con and venue safety policies. Event staff reserve the right to inspect or prohibit any item deemed unsafe.

Acknowledgment of Fictional Entertainment

I understand that "The Awakening of Azathoth" is a fictional interactive entertainment experience involving roleplaying, storytelling, mystery, fantasy, and cosmic horror themes. The event may contain simulated supernatural elements, atmospheric effects, theatrical encounters, and immersive gameplay.

I acknowledge that all scenarios, creatures, characters, organizations, and storylines are fictional and intended solely for entertainment purposes.

Voluntary Participation

I voluntarily choose to participate in this event and understand that participation may involve:

• Walking through indoor and outdoor event spaces

• Physical activity

• Simulated combat encounters

• Roleplaying interactions

• Dim lighting and atmospheric effects

• Loud sounds or sudden noises

• Fantasy, horror, or suspense-themed content

Assumption of Risk

I voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation in this event, including but not limited to slips, trips, falls, accidental contact during gameplay, emotional distress, or minor injuries that may occur during participation.

I agree to follow all rules, safety instructions, and directions provided by event staff, marshals, volunteers, and organizers.

Weapons & Safety Rules

I understand that all weapons, shields, armor, and combat props are subject to inspection before use.

I agree not to use any unapproved weapon or prop during the event.

I understand that event staff have final authority regarding safety decisions and may remove any participant or equipment deemed unsafe.

Medical Responsibility

I certify that I am physically and mentally capable of participating in this activity and understand that it is my responsibility to determine whether participation is appropriate for me.

Should I experience illness, injury, or distress during the event, I will immediately notify event staff.

Release of Liability

In consideration of being allowed to participate, I release and discharge Deep South Para-Comi-Con, Webb Paranormal Group, event organizers, volunteers, staff, sponsors, venue management, guests, performers, and affiliated organizations from any claims, liabilities, damages, costs, or causes of action arising from my participation, except where prohibited by law.

Photography & Media Release

I understand that photographs, video recordings, livestreams, and other media may be captured during the event.

I grant Deep South Para-Comi-Con permission to use my image, likeness, voice, and appearance in promotional materials, social media, websites, advertising, and future event marketing without compensation.
