Do you get excited at the thought of volunteering to help local charities?

If so, why not sign up to volunteer at the Deep South Para-Comi-Con this August 8–9, 2026? We donate a part of our profits to local charities.

Only the serious need to apply

If you are not serious about your commitment to being a volunteer worker at the Deep South Para-Comi-Con, we would prefer you not apply.
Volunteer work involves a lot of long, tedious hours, most of which you will be expected to spend on your feet.
In addition, if you had planned on appreciating the event on a personal level, being a volunteer is not the way to do it.
You will be expected to perform certain tasks to help keep our event clean and safe.
Sweeping floors, mopping up messes, and cleaning bathrooms might be something you are asked to do.
The idea is to make the attendees comfortable and make sure everyone is following the rules.

The benefits & rewards are bountiful

Although the hours are grueling and the work can sometimes appear difficult, there are bonuses to being a DSPCC volunteer.
The biggest reward is learning the ins and outs of how a convention operates.
You also have the opportunity to meet some cool special guests and even celebrities.
Not only that, but you will leave the convention with new friendships that share your interests.

Cool perks of being a volunteer

All volunteers receive a T-shirt and badge with the DSPCC logo and the dates of the convention.
This T-shirt must be worn at all times while on duty.
You will be granted admission each day of the convention when wearing your volunteer T-shirt.
In addition, wearing this T-shirt earns you bragging rights after the event as proof of your participation in the Deep South Para-Comi-Con.

We will also provide all volunteers with water, snacks, and lunch on both days of the convention.
These will be available to volunteers only in the breakroom.

Note: We will have a refreshment/break area for our volunteers and staff. We do not pay for food vendors or concession items for volunteers or staff.

Weekend availability is mandatory!

If working Saturday and Sunday is going to be a problem, please do NOT volunteer.
Each day of the Deep South Para-Comi-Con event is going to require dedication and hard work.
Attendees of the convention are paying a lot of money to ensure a quality event.
Therefore, if you have conflicting outside issues, we would prefer you not sign up as a volunteer.
If you want to partake in event activities and programs, purchase an admission ticket and enjoy the convention as an attendee.

If being a volunteer at the DSPCC event sounds like something you want to do, then by all means complete the attached volunteer form.
We welcome all the help we can get.
Keep in mind that you are volunteering to participate and work for two days, but we are only asking you to spend 4 hours working with us for a shift.

• Sunday, August 9, 2026: 8:00 AM – 7:30 PM

Additional Note:
All volunteers must be at least 18 years of age (proof may be required) on the date of the event.

Volunteer Information and Liability Waiver

I, the undersigned, agree to serve as a volunteer at the Deep South Para-Comi-Con 2026 Convention (“the Convention”) on the terms of this volunteer agreement.

This agreement covers all events and occurrences before, during, and after the Convention, including but not limited to:
event set-up, registration, breakdown after the Convention, sessions, seminars, meetings, parades, concerts, meals, and all activities.
This agreement also includes being on or off the premises of Convention hotels and travel to and from the Convention (“service activities”).

In representation of the Convention operator, Deep South Para-Comi-Con, their officers, and employees, it is understood:

1. I am a volunteer, not an employee of the Convention or Deep South Para-Comi-Con and will not be paid money or any item of value for service activities.
2. I am physically and mentally fit and can perform assigned activities with no limitations. If I have a disability, I certify that I can perform the assigned activities.

Volunteer Agreement Terms

1. I will abide by all policies and instructions of Deep South Para-Comi-Con and its employees.
2. Deep South Para-Comi-Con may terminate my service as an at-will volunteer at any time and for any reason without compensation.
3. Deep South Para-Comi-Con and the Convention will not provide workers’ compensation, health, dental, vision, or medical insurance.
4. If I have concerns regarding my health or ability to participate, I will consult my physician.
5. I will inform Deep South Para-Comi-Con officials in writing of any limitations.
6. I assume all risks of injuries or illnesses that may occur to me or my property.
7. I waive any claims against the Convention, Deep South Para-Comi-Con, its owners, officers, employees, sponsors, volunteers, and guests.

I agree to indemnify and be completely responsible for any injury or damage I may cause.
If I require emergency medical treatment, I grant permission to licensed medical personnel to evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide medical care.
I waive any claims against individuals or entities providing such care and accept full financial responsibility for treatment.
