E.R. Porter Hardware stands as Alabama’s oldest continually operating hardware store, a true testament to time with its interior and exterior remaining “virtually unaltered” since its earliest days. Stepping inside is like a journey to the past, where you’ll find a vast inventory, including those elusive “hard-to-find items”. It’s no wonder a local saying among Dothan’s older generation goes, “If Porter Hardware doesn’t have it, it’s not in town!”.
