About Kathleen I. Lyons – Storyteller, Creator & Dreamer

Kathleen I. Lyons is a passionate storyteller and creative mind, born and raised in Alabama. From a young age, her imagination was always alive—whether through drawing unique characters or crafting stories filled with wonder and adventure. Her early love for fantasy was shaped by iconic worlds like The Lord of the Rings and The Chronicles of Narnia, which inspired her to dream beyond reality and explore magical storytelling.

Her journey into writing deepened during middle school when she discovered Inkheart by Cornelia Funke, a story that sparked her desire to create worlds of her own. That inspiration stayed with her, eventually leading her to write her first manuscript in high school. Although she chose not to publish it at the time, it became the foundation for her growth as a writer and continues to influence her creative process today.

Years later, while working at an extrusion plant, Kathleen reignited her passion for storytelling. She began developing new ideas, writing multiple stories, and eventually publishing her novel Arboriah Lux. Her dedication to writing reflects her lifelong dream—to share meaningful stories that allow readers to escape the pressures of everyday life, even if just for a moment.

Today, Kathleen continues to live in her hometown in Alabama, where she balances multiple creative roles. She writes, reads, draws, manages her publishing company, and runs her YouTube channel, The Magic Library. Through her work, she connects with a growing audience that shares her love for fantasy, creativity, and storytelling. She also participates in anime conventions, where she engages with fans and showcases her imaginative worlds.

Her creativity extends beyond writing into the creation of unique mascots that represent her brand and storytelling universe. One of them, Duat the Crow, is inspired by Egyptian mythology and reflects her fascination with ancient legends and deities like Anubis. Another character, Mu Mi the Mummy, adds a playful and imaginative element to her creative world, while also tying into her storytelling themes.

In addition to her fictional creations, Kathleen’s real-life companion, her cat Tolkein, plays a special role in her journey. Named after J.R.R. Tolkien during a period when she was deeply immersed in fantasy writing, Tolkein represents both inspiration and emotional connection in her life.

Kathleen’s mission is simple yet powerful: to tell stories that inspire, comfort, and transport readers into magical worlds. Through her writing, art, and online presence, she continues to build a creative space where imagination thrives and stories come to life.
